Garifuna Language and Culture Workshops

About This Grant

Garinagu Houngua will organize a series of workshops where the community can learn about the language, culture and art of the Garifuna people directly from Garifuna natives. A final cultural event will be held on April 12, a celebratory day for the Garifuna people. This event will have presentations from the workshops, Garifuna dance, art, and food. A well-known historian of Garifuna culture will serve as a guest speaker at the culminating event.
